My Thoughts

The concept of Eternal Forever is interesting, unique, and refreshing–a service to keep a person’s online image “alive” after his/her death. However, the more interesting part of this book is how it makes you think about your digital footprint.

Every interaction with the Web is immortalized and someone with the skills and the desire can dig out everything about you and dox you. I liked how the book deals with cyberbullying and its horrifying consequences.

The story is a bit difficult to get into because you’re introduced to many, many characters who seemingly have no connection with each other. You follow their individual stories wondering where it’s all leading to until the very end.

Only at around 92% of the book did I begin to see how cleverly all the different people and events were connected to each other. The characters are twisted, opportunistic, and impulsive. They will betray anyone for money.

Eternal Forever is a cleverly-written story full of greedy, deceitful, and unsavory characters who only seek to benefit themselves. Persevere with the book even if you find it a bit confusing in the beginning and I’m sure you will find the end highly rewarding.

Fame, glory and… foul play!

Jessie was a shop worker dreaming of the big time, then YouTube found her. But staying in the limelight requires meticulous management: pop stars are made not born.

With awards night approaching, the pressure’s on for Tito, Jessie’s manager, to whip her into shape. Getting so close wasn’t in the contract, but then neither was him being murdered in Spain.

Alone and scared of the negative publicity, Jessie turns to Mack, her account manager at Eternal Forever, the UK’s first digital legacy management agency. But Mack’s got his own issues: the company’s fast running out of cash, his key developer’s on the turn and a blogger’s suicide looks suspicious.

With the assistance of J-Pop, Mack’s assistant and wannabe reality TV star, Jessie turns sleuth. But in a world where everybody’s watching, it’s hard to escape. Reputation is everything and some people will do anything to protect it.

Can Jessie remain on top or will her pop star crown come crashing down?
